Sadie is a shy and sensitive cat who is looking for a quiet, loving, and attentive home without a lot of visitors. When she knows she can trust you she is friendly and playful. But she gets scared by things easily; people she doesn’t know, sounds she doesn’t know, new items of furniture, etc.
New Leash Rescue took her in from a shelter where she wasn’t doing well in that environment. Her previous owner had to surrender her as she was moving to a nursing home. Sadie doesn’t want to meet her foster cat sister, and keeps her distance from the cat friendly dogs that visit once a week.
She needs her places to hide when she is scared. I wouldn’t have guessed a cat could fit behind my piano. She likes to try to open cupboard doors (and can; I found her in the bathroom cupboard once- trying to get back out). As a heads up, cupboard door entertainment can be noisy. She can be vocal at times (hey, I hear you are home so come pet me and play with me, I want attention!), but she is by no means an excessive talker.
She is a beauty with shiny black hair, but you won’t be able to show her off as she will hide from your visitors. In her previous home a regular visitor only saw her a couple of times in three years. She loves to play.
Though she loves to be petted (even her belly!) she is not a lap cat. She is a good jumper and likes to explore (the view from the top of the kitchen cupboards must be stellar). She is front declawed. She is fastidious concerning her litter box.
