Mel is a 10 year old chihuahua mix who came to us as a local stray who was never claimed. Mel needed his teeth cleaned up and he also had a cherry eye that was fixed as well as his neuter completed. He is settling into his foster home and doing well. He is very sweet and loves to be held. Mel is going to be your laid back senior guy who loves to just chill and get attention. Due to his age and small size, Mel is recommended for a home with kids age 10 and up. Sometimes the senior dogs don't care for all the energy and activity of little ones living with them, but they can do okay with them visiting from time to time. A nice quiet retirement home would be just the ticket for this little guy.
Mel was neutered, had a dental cleaning, as well as a cherry eye fixed along with his other vetting since coming into rescue.
Adoption fee is $300 + tax (no checks)

This dog will not be at our adoption event this weekend, so please contact the foster to learn more!
Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
