Ryder is a two year old lab mix who came to us from a local shelter where he was scared of the environment after being there for awhile. He is doing great in his foster home! He knows how to sit and stay and would love to learn more!

He weighs about 60 pounds. He is good with dogs, and would be best around medium and large dogs. He is good with people - he loves to play and get affection from his family. He would do best with kids age 8 and up - sometimes he might knock little ones over. He didn't seem to care about the cats at our vet clinic, but his foster home does not have cats. He is doing well on housetraining, and will need a refresher course when he moves to a new house and a new routine. Once Ryder settles in to a home, he can be protective with visitors and new people coming over, so he needs a family who will continue to work on slower introductions with him.

Adoption fee is $350.00 + tax (no checks)

This dog will be at the Woodbury PetSmart on Saturday from 11-3pm looking for a home!

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
