Shaggy is a three year old terrier mix who came to us from a shelter where he was stressed out by the environment. He weighs about 50 pounds. He is a friendly guy and does good with other dogs. He has some energy and likes to play with other dogs. Shaggy is not good with cats, and he is recommended for kids 8 years and up - Shaggy might knock little ones over. He gets scared of Thunderstorms too, so he needs a family who is willing to work on that.
He has been treated for heartworm recently, so he needs a family who will make sure he stays on preventative every month for the rest of his life. This is around $8 per month for a dog his size and also has good dewormers in it.
Adoption fee is $275 + tax (no checks)

This dog will not be at an adoption event this weekend. Please contact foster fore more info.
Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable.
There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
